Playing catch up...all the time.

It has been forever since I have posted because I keep waiting until I have time to play catch-up.
Obviously that is not going to happen.

Oh well.
You do what you can with what you have right?

Let's see the last time I posted was July 6th...that was over a month ago.

Since then I have:
  1. started my museum inventory project and am just chugging along on that.
  2. Been sick a few times
  3. ran a 5k - the first temple to temple run!!!
  4. worked on my thesis proposal
  5. Bruce came to Utah!!!
  6. Celebrated Bug's 17th birthday.
  7. Deruda received his mission call - FRANKFURT, GERMANY!!!
  8. Got a new calling with Stephie and Hunter - Break the Fast chairs.
  9. made a potato bar for 80 people
  10. and dyed Bug's hair - my first dye job.
There were more, I can't remember them all but there are 10 of them.
Also, here are some pictures to accompany said list.

Time with the familia.
Widgie's birthday dinner.

My bib from the first annual Temple to Temple 5k!!!

Shopping for Break the Fast - yes they really make Nutella that large - no we did not buy it.

Prepping the potato bar for Break the Fast.

We decided to save money and make our own bacon bits.

The entire house still has a bit of a bacon smell.
Our fridge was actually full for the first time...ever.
Unfortunately none of the food was ours.
All for the ward.

We fit 84 potatoes in the 3 ovens in our house.
Zach, the other chair on the committee only got to bake 4 potatoes.

Coming home from Institute one evening.

I am almost done with my indexing goal for the year...in August.
Only 51 names to go!!!

The Cita and I have spent the last few mornings eating breakfast together or just talking after we drop Bug off at cross-country practice.
The Provo temple is our favorite place to talk.
It has been a nice end to the summer.

The walk to Bridal Veil Falls with my wonderful Australian, Syrian, Egyptian, friend Bruce.
We spent the afternoon at Vivian Park to celebrate Bug's birthday and Bruce was visiting and came with us.
It was a wonderful day.

I, like my father before me, forget when I am boiling eggs.
This one exploded.
In trying to clean it up I spilled a powder on the stove that let off a nasty, toxic smelling smoke.
Rough day that was.

While I caught up on my journal Rosie jumped up on the chair to keep me company.
The tablecloth is a gift from Bruce from Egypt.

This is the cut and dye I did for Bug yesterday.
She wanted her hair ombre.
I am not a fan of ombre but I am a fan of Bug.
So, for the first time ever, I permanently dyed someone's hair.

This is the beginning.

I trimmed her hair and gave her bangs.

Getting ready to dye...or die.
Dyeing things scares me.

Since we had to wait an hour I decided to also do her makeup.

Done!!!

This was the first thing I noticed when I rinsed her hair.
I was more than a little pleased.

We tried not to have a line and go up a little on the sides so there wasn't a line straight across.
It isn't perfect but it turned out pretty much like we planned.

Here it is curled.
She isn't excited at all is she?
;)

Hair and makeup done:

Final "ombre" result:

My favorite is definitely the bangs.
She didn't know what I was doing with the bangs.
She was afraid but now it is her favorite part.
Hehehehe.

So there you go, first dye job done.
I only cut and dye Bug's hair because she doesn't care when I mess up.
I like that.
